Supported through an internal business-management platform and client-facing portal.
Reduced a major third-party API response time by redesigning request batching and data-fetching logic.
Completed a stalled financial API integration and unblocked the client application.
Practical software, thoughtfully built
I am a frontend-leaning software engineer with experience building and maintaining internal tools, client-facing portals, data workflows, API integrations, and full-stack web applications.
My work is centered on practical software used by businesses and their customers, with an emphasis on maintainability, clear interfaces, reliable data handling, and responsive application workflows.
More about meWhere I’ve contributed
December 2024–Present
At Manafall, I work on Scrivnr’s internal business-management platform, client-facing portal, and public website. The software supports approximately 100 client companies and their probate-management workflows.
My work includes bulk data-import workflows, responsive forms, tables, dashboards, state-management architecture, and integrations with Strapi and Spring Boot APIs.
React · Next.js · TypeScript · Zustand · TanStack Query · Strapi · Spring Boot APIs · AWS Amplify · Docker
September 2024–May 2025
Completed application and integration work across financial technology, education, and membership-management products.
Projects included a third-party financial API integration, an educational web application, and a database-backed membership and booking system.
React · Next.js · TypeScript · Supabase · Directus · Tailwind CSS · REST APIs
July 2024–December 2024
Contributed full-stack features and performance improvements to a public legislative tracking application.
Reduced a major third-party API response time from more than 60 seconds to under 10 seconds by redesigning request batching and data-fetching logic.

Public marketing site · Client work through Manafall
The video and live link show Scrivnr’s public marketing site, which I helped build at Manafall. It is the public-facing part of a wider software product used by Scrivnr and its clients.
Contribution: I implemented responsive frontend interfaces from the design team’s direction and integrated the site with Strapi so Scrivnr can manage its public content.
My broader work at Manafall also includes Scrivnr’s private internal business-management platform and client portal. Those interfaces and source code are not shown here.
Open-source full-stack application
Legibill is an open-source full-stack application for researching and tracking United States legislation, legislators, bill sponsors, history, and legislative progress.
Contribution: I contributed frontend and backend features and diagnosed a major third-party API bottleneck. By redesigning request batching and data-fetching logic, I reduced large response times from more than 60 seconds to under 10 seconds.

An additional creative practice
Outside of business applications, I explore browser-based 3D, physics, shaders, and interaction design.
These experiments explore real-time grass and water alongside two physics-based browser games.

Background and perspective
I am a frontend-leaning software engineer with production experience building internal tools, client portals, data workflows, and API-driven applications.
At Manafall, a small development agency, I work on Scrivnr’s internal business-management platform, client-facing portal, and public website. Previously, I completed freelance application and integration work and contributed full-stack features and performance improvements to the open-source Legibill project.
Before entering software development, I spent several years living and working in Chengdu, China as an English teacher and freelance recording engineer. When my wife and I decided to move back to the United States, I began studying software engineering and completed Springboard’s 800-hour mentored program.
Outside of software, I produce music, create videos, play Dungeons & Dragons, climb, and spend time with my wife and our four cats.
